Julie Abel is a Canadian singer-songwriter living in Montreal, Quebec, performing under the name of Raychel. With a great intensity and a voice often compared to Björk, her smooth piano based "cabaret" style music will plunge you into her unique world.
Born in Alma, Lac-Saint-Jean, Julie started taking piano lessons at age 7.
Julie has been involved in many projects playing with different artists such as Geeta, Citylake, and Kimberly and the Dreamtime while working on her music and performing in the local scene. Raychel’s first EP entitled Pretty and Misplaced was released on March 3rd, 2015.
In May 2015, Raychel reached the final as a contestant in MusiQualité’s competition and performed at Pavillon du Grand Coteau in Mascouche.
"this was sincere talent. Her hands are all over the piano, crossing over each other, doing things that are definitely difficult to play and very technical, and all this while singing. Not only does she have a great voice and hit every note perfectly, but her voice is actually very unique and full of emotion."

"Raychel offre une musique où se mélangent ambiance cabaret et une espèce de malaise calculé. Le plus étrange est que ça devient de plus en plus accrocheur à chaque écoute. Vivement un album album complet qui pourra être savouré pleinement."
